We are happy to announce the publication of the first HKUST IEMS Thought Leadership Brief titled “Innovate or Die: How Hong Kong-owned Manufacturing Firms in China Can Survive and Thrive”, authored by HKUST IEMS Faculty Associate Naubahar Sharif, who is Associate Professor in the Division of Social Science at The Hong Kong University of Science Technology. Specializing in innovation studies, Prof. Sharif examines the challenges facing Hong Kong-owned manufacturing firms in Guangdong, assesses the role of innovation in firm survival, and makes policy recommendations on how to improve regional innovation systems in the Pearl River Delta.
HKUST IEMS Thought Leadership Briefs are published by the HKUST Institute for Emerging Markets in order to disseminate research results to business leaders, policy makers, the media, and the public.
