The Hong Kong Economic Journal featured an op-ed by IEMS’ Edwin Lai on China’s role in the growing volatility of the global markets. To shore up public confidence, Prof Lai asserted that Beijing should take steps to stabilize China’s currency, improve the transparency of its exchange and monetary policies, introduce stimulus packages, and speed up the country’s structural reform.
