World Economic Forum: The Changing Face of China

IEMS Director Albert Park joined a panel of experts at the World Economic Forum’s discussion on the “Changing Face of China”, which included in-depth exploration of new demographic trends, norms, and policy priorities reshaping Chinese society. Specific topics included the impact of China’s new two-child policy, the link between China’s household registration system (hukou) and welfare entitlement, and the knowledge / consumer behavior revolution fueled by social media.

  • Zheng Zhenzhen, Professor of the Institute of Population and Labour Economics at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences
  • Yvonne Li, Founder and Chairperson of the International China Ageing Industry Association
