Zweig on China-US Relations and the Taiwan Strait

Amid escalating trade tensions between China and the US, reports are emerging suggesting that the US is challenging China on core issues that could lead to military conflict. David Zweig, IEMS Faculty Associate and Director of the Center on China's Transnational Relations is featured in the Apple Daily, Economic Daily, ET Today and DuoWei News as saying that the threat of Sino-American military conflict remains low. Neither side would want military conflict and will exercise restraint in this regard. However, the presence of US warships in the Taiwan Strait is of urgent concern to China and places increasing pressure on Sino-American relations.
