UNU Macau AI Conference 2025

In celebration of the United Nations' 80th Anniversary (#UN80) and the United Nations University’s 50th Anniversary (#UNUat50), organized under the theme AI for Humanity: Building an Equitable Digital Future, the conference will bring together thought leaders, innovators, and stakeholders to address global divides—geographic, economic, and cultural—ensuring AI’s benefits are shared by all. The event expects around 500 participants from academia, industry, government, and civil society, with approximately 30 sessions across three thematic pillars, scheduled for October 24, 2025, coinciding with UN Day.

Three thematic Pillars

  1. AI Research for Narrowing the Digital Divide: Explore research and academic studies that drive actionable insights and policy recommendations, such as on AI’s impact on employment, livelihoods, climate change, human security and ethics.
  2. Inclusiveness and Capacity Building in the AI Era: Foster capacity building initiatives and collaborations to ensure AI technologies are accessible and beneficial to all communities, showcasing success stories where governments, organizations, and communities have united to ensure AI's benefits are accessible and inclusive.
  3. Navigating the AI Ecosystem through Synergies and Interdisciplinary Innovation: Examine issues related to AI ecosystems, including synergies across different fields and technologies, and to develop frameworks that promote responsible innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Join the UNU Macau AI Conference 2025 to engage in a global dialogue that advances the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and the Global Digital Compact, promoting equitable access to AI. Held in Macau, this event bridges perspectives from the Global North and South, and Cultural East and West, uniting policymakers, academics, industry leaders, communities, and youth in interactive panel discussions, workshops, and side events for impactful collaboration and an immersive experience.
