Elderly care in the Greater Bay Area – Integration and innovation for the future

Abstract

In the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA)’s one-hour living circle, the concept of cross-border elderly care has been steadily developing in recent years. Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau have collaborated to promote high-quality development in this area, emphasizing the creation of an elderly care ecosystem that provides seamless access across the region.

EY will launch the report “An exploration of elderly care in the Greater Bay Area – Integration and innovation for the future” to provide an overview of policymaking in elderly care in the GBA and propose some recommendations for future development. To further explore the integration and innovation in the elderly care industry, we are pleased to collaborate with HKUST Institute for Emerging Market and Golden Age Foundation, in building a dynamic dialogue between scholars and industry practitioners, to explore collaborative models in key areas such as elderly care facilities, health care security measures, elderly care financing and innovative elderly care services in the GBA.
