Established in August 1981, the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) is an autonomous, policy-oriented, not-for-profit, economic policy think tank. ICRIER’s main focus is to enhance the knowledge content of policy making by undertaking analytical research that is targeted at informing India’s policy makers and also at improving the interface with the global economy.

Along with the World Bank, HKUST IEMS and several institutions across the world, ICRIER is participating in an initiative titled Jobs and Development: Creating Multi-Disciplinary Solutions, which aims to build a vibrant and engaging community of experts on Jobs and seeks to build consensus among policymakers, academics, private sector, labor unions, development practitioners and others on the need to tackle the Jobs challenge from a multisectoral and multidisciplinary perspective.
