Our Executive Education programs are designed to meet the needs of a new generation of globally minded leaders in government, business and nonprofit sectors to tackle the most pressing policy challenges in the region and around the world, such as economic and financial crises, ageing, social inequalities, climate change, and terrorism. Our programs on “Global Economy: Challenges and Prospects”, “Responding to an Ageing Society”, and “Smart Policies for Promoting Innovation and Entrepreneurship” aim to provide critical insights on innovative policy solutions and implementation strategies in dealing with these challenges.

A distinctive feature of our programs is the emphasis on comparative and international perspectives. We bring together a world-class faculty, including not only faculty members from HKUST, University of Oxford, Stanford University, National University of Singapore (NUS) and other leading universities, but also thought leaders and seasoned practitioners from around the Asia and the world. We have partnered with University of Oxford to offer a wide range of programs under our HKUST-Oxford Leadership and Public Policy Series, such as “Rise of China and the Changing Global Order”, “Building Trust between Government and Citizens”, and “Envisioning the Future City”.

Our programs also focus on critical thinking and evidence-based approaches to policy issues in the development of public leadership and policy capacity of individuals and organizations serving the public. Our programs on “Leadership in Policy Development”, “Effective Communication in the Public Sector”, and “Using Evidence to Enhance Policy Effective” aim to equip leaders with policy acumen, analytical frameworks, and strategic thinking to enhance the effectiveness of their decisions and actions.

In addition to offering Executive Education programs, we also conduct public lectures to foster policy dialogues among decision-makers, thought leaders, academics and practitioners on challenges and opportunities on the path of development for Hong Kong and the region. Selected topics of past LAPP public lecture series include “Impact of European Financial Crises”, “Carbon Governance: Challenges and Opportunities”, “Shale Gas Revolution: Implications for Asia”, and “ISIS and Global Terrorism”.

With the ever-increasing demands for excellence in organizational performance and policy effectiveness, professional development in leadership and policy capacity play a key role for continued success of senior executives and organizations they serve. We would be pleased to work with individual organizations and agencies to develop customized programs to address their training needs and challenges.
