The SCMP Education Post carried a research summary by IEMS’ Wenbo Wang, Assistant Professor at the HKUST Marketing Department, detailing his study into the benefits of television commercials that–under certain conditions–can improve consumers’ television watching welfare. This finding, of course, is in direct contrast to the oft-repeated view that television commercials as nuisances with little or no positive benefit to the viewer.
