World Fertility Rates in 'Unprecedented Decline', UN Says

In an article on global declining fertility rates, it was mentioned that the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has issued its strongest warning,  stating hundreds of millions of people are unable to have the number of children they desire due to the prohibitive cost and lack of suitable partners.

SOSC/PPOL Prof. Stuart GIETEL-BASTEN commented that it was the first time that the UN has taken such a strong stance on low fertility issues, adding that low fertility, population ageing, population stagnation were used as an excuse to justify nationalist, anti-migrant policies and gender conservative policies.
